As someone who was born in Nanjing, China, and raised in Pleasanton, California, a person who spent the first ten years of her life learning British English, I get asked a lot - Where are you from, and Who are you?

With that international background, I see myself as a global citizen who loves the beach, country music, folk rock, meaningful conversations, and learning new things. But mostly, I love people. I love connecting with them, listening to their stories, and understanding what matters most to them.

From late milkshake conversations and blasting John Denver with my dad to interviewing retired faculty from Santa Clara University, I formed strong relationships with people from different backgrounds and experience levels.

Now, as a first-year graduate student in Digital Social Media at USC Annenberg, I’ve discovered a growing interest in news and sports—spaces where stories unfold in real time and shape the way we connect. I’m excited to explore how digital platforms can amplify voices, build meaningful connections, and foster understanding and community across cultures.
